FIRST REPORT :: ROLL CALL [ACTION | VOICE]
[It was a new world, and the task of the Master Chief remained focused on one thing only: The return to Earth to report what had happened. What followed in the Forward Unto Dawn was a battle against strange creatures, an escape as it overwhelmed him and Cortana... and then the arrival into a strange world connecting to many more.
He arrived into another world, with more alien figures -- this time ones that wished to help, even as they could overpower him.
Just now, after exiting the hall without speaking another word, he explores the city for only the most practical of purposes to both fight and find a way back to his universe. The defense of civilians, that would remain, and he would do what he could to keep them safe, but his utmost task would be the protection of humanity.
Wasting no time, as he walks through the streets alone, he speaks through the communicator.]
Where's the weapon store.
[In spite of his curt, sudden nature... his visor focuses on those he recognizes, are from people hailing from different universes. The same feeling that they didn't belong, the same overt body language or irritation at things being different. Even know, he wondered if there might be help in them, with what was happening.
And Spartans were adaptable.]

And he draws her attention, for the simple reason that a giant in futuristic (to her) armor stands out. A soldier, she thinks,not just from those obvious signs but from his clipped speech and bearing, too. For a moment, she watches him before she realizes she's crossed the border into staring.
Which is rude of her, and she quickly dips into a half-nod, half-bow that serves as a greeting, or at least acknowledgement. She smiles, and makes up for her momentary lapse by offering what help she can, starting with an introduction.]
Excuse me, please. I'm Ami Mizuno. I wasn't trying to listen, but I overheard you asking about a weapon shop. It might not have the type of equipment you're accustomed to, but I know where it is, if you'd like to see it.
[Action]
His armor was zinged, but kept solid and repaired enough to keep not only his entire body sealed against vacuum, little of his body language was open to outsiders in his focused walk or his standing. Eventually, he finally replies to her.]
Show me.
[Action]
[Ami falls into step with the Spartan, somehow managing to keep up with his longer stride without giving an impression of any difficulty.
The armored man is a man of very few words, Ami notices; but that's not exactly bad thing for a girl who rarely knows how to make small-talk, either. It's a little disconcerting that she can't see his expression, and that his body language gives away little of his mood, but she tells herself it's the fault of the armor. Which makes her realize he's still wearing the helmet, too, as though he's visiting a strange planet.]
The atmospheric conditions here are similar to those on planet Earth in some regions. If that's alright, your helmet might not be necessary here.
[Action]
To say he was of few words would be an understatement. He spoke when it was necessary: That was the nature of Spartans. His helmet was not something he removed, as the armor and himself were one. He had forever lived to be ready for combat, especially in here. And right now, with Cortana being the only person he knew, it continues to apply.
Even as his sight remained focused over her. He remains quiet to her request, only following her in silence.]
[Action]
Excuse me, but I don't know what I should call you.

[He hasn't quite mastered the controls of the device so he really finds no difference on his end, assuming it's doing the same thing.]

[Hopefully. He knew the need to improvise, but this mission... would probably demand more than usual.]

[And even then, he is open to improvisation.]
I need assault weaponry I can carry. It'll be a long recon.

So ya humans actually plan on fightin' those things for that stupid Queen after all?

[No, he's not criticizing. He likes your style.]

[The rest of it, already spent on food, shelter, and maintenance. All for combat.]
Do you know?

[The classic.]
Assault Rifles. 7.62x51mm Full Metal Jacket rounds. Pistols, 12.7x40mm M225 Semi-Armor-Piercing High-Explosive rounds. Fragmentation grenades and explosives to breach reinforced steel.
Failing that? [Beat.] Anything.

[She is still in your head and she doesn't want you getting hurt because of her!]
Assuming that her assumptions are correct, we still have no information on what our new enemies are capable of doing aside from 'stealing hearts'.
Action;
[Regardless of what he was seeing right now, they were a threat, ad one in great numbers that had to be stopped. It is why he doesn't stop walking unless it's to buy an object or a service for the mission.]
Action;
I would never doubt your capabilities but I have a bad feeling about this. You don't have to do this just for me.
Action;
If we don't do this, then what?
[He had to do this for the two of them. He learned long ago that the Covenant were not invincible -- neither were the Forerunner nor the Flood.]
We still need a ride home.
Action;
Words could not express the things she would do for her Spartan.]
We'll move forward, then. We will find a way home.

He requested Cortana for information on the girl's most likely culture. Before learning which language would be easier to use, he opted for english.]
How long have you been here?
Action.
Not long. And you?
Action.
We need to know more.
[Regarding the Heartless, the roads between worlds... and the help many of the rest of them would need, for what would follow.]
Action.
We.
[She got up from where she was perched and followed him.]
Are you familiar with this world? Is it similar to yours?
[Take a look at her, John. She doesn't even know what electricity is.]
